Case Packer
Professional Packaging Equipment Supplier
1. Product Overview
The case packer is an automated packaging device that loads inner-packaged products (such as boxed, bottled, or bagged items) into corrugated cartons in a predetermined arrangement. It is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, daily chemical, and beverage industries. The machine can be integrated with upstream cartoners, carton sealers, and palletizers to form a complete end-of-line packaging system, enabling fully automated packaging from individual cartons to full cases. Through precision mechanical structures and intelligent control systems, the case packer reliably and efficiently completes product layering, grouping, pick-and-place, carton forming, and bottom sealing operations, significantly reducing labor costs while improving production efficiency and packaging consistency. Depending on product configuration and case packing methods, case packers are available in drop-type, pick-and-place, side-push, and wrap-around variants to accommodate various product dimensions and carton specifications.
2. Working Principle
The working principle of the case packer involves the following steps: First, empty cartons are fed to the case packing station by an automatic carton erector or manually, with bottom flaps automatically folded and sealed with tape via mechanical mechanisms or suction cups. Second, products arriving from upstream production lines are grouped and layered into predetermined matrix arrangements (e.g., 2×3, 3×4) through dividing and collating mechanisms. Third, the case loading mechanism loads products into cartons using different methods depending on the packing type — drop-type case packing uses a pneumatic cylinder to vertically drop product groups from above into the carton; pick-and-place case packing uses robotic arms or suction cup arrays to grip and horizontally place product groups into the carton; side-push case packing uses pusher bars to horizontally push product groups into the carton from the side. Finally, top flaps are folded and sealed by the top sealing mechanism, and finished cartons are conveyed to downstream palletizing stations. The entire process is coordinated by a PLC programmable controller, with photoelectric sensors providing real-time detection of product positioning to ensure case packing accuracy and operational stability.
