Glass-lined Disc Condenser
Heat Exchangers

1. Product Overview
Glass-lined Plate Condenser
The glass-lined plate condenser is a plate-type condensation and heat-exchange unit with a carbon steel body coated with a dense glass enamel layer. It consists of multiple glass-lined heat exchange plates stacked in assembly; gas passages and cooling water passages are formed between adjacent plates, and corrosive gas and cooling water flow counter-currently through neighboring channels to accomplish condensation heat exchange.
Widely applicable to: acidic gas condensation in chemical industry, corrosive solvent vapor condensation in pharmaceutical industry, exhaust gas condensation and recovery in pesticide industry, solvent recovery in dye and coating industry, etc.
2. Working Principle
Equipment features: excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis, plates replaceable individually, relatively low maintenance cost, compact structure with a small footprint, and vulnerability to freezing if left idle over winter without draining the liquid.
Corrosive gas enters the gas passage from the top of the condenser and flows downward. Cooling water enters the cooling water passage from the bottom and flows upward, achieving counter-current heat exchange with the gas. Upon contacting the glass-lined plate surface, the gas releases latent heat, condenses into a liquid film flowing down along the plate wall, collects and discharges from the bottom condensate outlet. Cooling water, after absorbing heat, discharges from the top. Each glass-lined plate simultaneously serves to isolate corrosive media and transfer heat.
3. System Classification
| Type | Features | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Single-hole type | One circular hole per plate, gas and cooling water pass alternately | Older design, relatively smaller flow area |
| Multi-hole type | Multiple circular holes per plate, enlarged flow area | Newer design, higher heat exchange efficiency, larger processing capacity |
| Type | Features | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Single-pass condensation | Gas passes through once to complete condensation | Small condensation load, large condensation temperature difference |
| Multi-pass condensation | Gas passes back and forth multiple times, increasing condensation time | Large condensation load, higher condensation efficiency required |
