Jet Mill
1. Product Overview
1.1 General Description
The jet mill achieves ultra-fine grinding by accelerating particles in a high-velocity gas stream so that they collide with one another; with no mechanical grinding parts, it is one of the mainstream machines for producing ultrafine powders (1-45μm). The high-speed gas (0.6-1.0MPa compressed air or superheated steam) is accelerated to 2-3 times the speed of sound through the nozzles, and particles entrained in the stream collide and fracture after being accelerated. The built-in classifier wheel provides real-time classification: qualified fines are carried out by the airflow for collection, while coarse particles return for further grinding. The jet mill is particularly suitable for ultra-fine grinding of hard, high-purity and low-melting-point materials, with no contamination and a low temperature rise.

2. Working Principle
2.1 Jet Mill Process Flow
Jet mill process flow: compressed air → accelerated to supersonic flow through the nozzles → material is accelerated → particles collide and fracture → classification by the built-in classifier wheel → qualified fines enter the collector → coarse particles return for further grinding. Compressed air is injected into the grinding chamber through 3-6 nozzles at specific angles, forming a high-speed swirling flow field. Particles are accelerated to several hundred m/s in the vortex and grind each other on impact. The built-in classifier wheel rotates at high speed (up to over 10000rpm) and classifies particles under the combined action of centrifugal force and gas drag. Qualified fines pass through the classifier into the cyclone separator and bag collector.
