Ultrafiltration
Water Treatment

Ultrafiltration System
Model: UF Series
1. Product Overview
An ultrafiltration (UF) system uses membranes with pore sizes of 0.01–0.1 μm to retain bacteria, viruses, colloids, and suspended solids. With an MWCO of 1000–300000 Da, it delivers turbidity of ≤0.1 NTU and bacteria removal of ≥99.999%, making it ideal for RO pretreatment, drinking-water purification, and pharmaceutical water treatment.
Key Features
- Membrane pore size of 0.01–0.1 μm
- Bacteria removal of ≥99.999%
- Turbidity of ≤0.1 NTU
- Capacity from 1 to 200 m³/h
- Cross-flow operation with low fouling
- Automatic backwash and CEB cleaning
2. Working Principle
UF Separation
UF membranes have pores of 0.01–0.1 μm. Driven by 0.01–0.2 MPa pressure, water and small molecules pass through the membrane while larger molecules, colloids, bacteria, and viruses are retained. Cross-flow operation keeps the membrane surface swept, reducing fouling.
Backwash & Cleaning
The system is backwashed periodically with permeate to dislodge trapped foulants, while Chemical Enhanced Backwash (CEB) with NaClO or citric acid is performed every 1–4 weeks to remove stubborn fouling.
3. System Classification
By Membrane
1. Hollow fiber UF
2. Spiral-wound UF
By Operation
1. Dead-end filtration
2. Cross-flow filtration
