Ion Exchanger
Water Treatment

Ion Exchanger
Model: IX Series
1. Product Overview
An ion exchanger uses ion-exchange resin to remove dissolved salts and ions from water. Available as cation, anion, or mixed-bed units, it can raise water resistivity to up to 18MΩ·cm, making it key equipment for high-purity and ultrapure water production, widely used in the pharmaceutical, electronics, chemical, and power industries.
Key Features
- Resistivity up to 18MΩ·cm
- Capacity from 1 to 100 m³/h
- Cation, anion, or mixed-bed configurations
- Automatic regeneration with PLC control
- Resin service life of 3–5 years with low regenerant consumption
2. Working Principle
Cation Exchange
Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺ and Na⁺ ions exchange with H⁺ on the cation resin and are adsorbed, while H⁺ enters the water. The resin is regenerated with HCl or H₂SO₄.
Anion Exchange
Cl⁻, SO₄²⁻ and SiO₂ exchange with OH⁻ on the anion resin; the resin is regenerated with NaOH.
Mixed Bed
Cation and anion resins are mixed in a 1:2 ratio, removing both anions and cations at once to deliver resistivity up to 18MΩ·cm. During regeneration, the two resins are separated by density difference and regenerated individually.
