Carbon Steel Tank
Storage Tanks

Carbon Steel Storage Tank
1. Product Overview
The carbon steel storage tank is a storage vessel fabricated by rolling and welding carbon structural steel plates, with an anti-corrosion coating system applied to the outer surface. It consists of the shell, wind girders, ladders and platforms, nozzles and anti-corrosion facilities.
Widely applicable to: crude oil and refined product storage, industrial water storage, neutral chemical liquid storage, fire water tanks, etc.
Key features: low cost, mature fabrication technology, extremely wide capacity range (up to tens of thousands of cubic meters), anti-corrosion grade adjustable to the stored medium.
2. Working Principle
The tank relies on the strength and thickness of the steel shell to withstand hydrostatic pressure and the pressure in the gas space; external wind girders provide the rigidity required for large-diameter thin-wall tanks; breather valves maintain slight positive or negative pressure inside; the anti-corrosion coating isolates the steel from the corrosive environment.
3. System Classification
By Stored Medium
| Type | Features | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Crude oil | Large, floating or internal floating roof | Oilfield gathering, refinery tank farms |
| Refined products | Fixed or internal floating roof | Gasoline, diesel, jet fuel storage |
| Water | No special anti-corrosion required | Industrial circulating water, fire water |
| Chemicals | Special internal anti-corrosion as required | Neutral or mildly corrosive chemicals |
4. Detailed Technical Parameters
