1. Product Overview
The single-cone ribbon dryer is a vertical dryer that combines vacuum drying with intensive agitation. It consists of a single-cone shell, ribbon agitator, drive system, vacuum system and heating system. It is widely used for drying viscous, cake-like and readily agglomerating materials. Key features: the ribbon agitator continuously renews the heat-transfer surface, delivering a high heat-transfer coefficient with no dead zones; a large-diameter bottom outlet allows fast, complete discharge; and the design meets GMP cleaning requirements.
2. Working Principle
Wet material is charged into the single-cone shell, which is then evacuated. The drive shaft rotates the helical ribbons: the inner ribbon lifts the material upward while the outer ribbon presses it downward, creating strong convective mixing. A heating medium circulates through the jacket and heats the shell wall. Under constant agitation the material contacts the wall thoroughly; the moisture vaporizes under vacuum and is drawn off by the vacuum pump to the condenser.

By ribbon configuration:
Single-ribbon dryer: one helical ribbon only, simple construction / free-flowing powders and granules
Double-ribbon dryer: inner and outer ribbons wound in opposite directions for intensive mixing / high-viscosity, agglomerating and high-moisture materials
Ribbon dryer with chopper: high-speed chopper shafts mounted beside the ribbon / lumpy materials that require drying and deagglomeration at the same time
